Turn a legacy of love into a lifetime of opportunity.
Your gift honors John and Judy Wright by investing in resilient students with foster care experience. Helping them not just start college, but finish it.
Why Your Support Matters
Breaking the Cycle
Every year, young people age out of foster care with big dreams and almost no safety net. They are more likely to face homelessness, unemployment, and serious health challenges than their peers.
Only 3% complete a four-year degree.
Yet when they receive targeted support—especially for housing, technology, and everyday costs—their odds of success rise dramatically.
The JJ Wright Scholarship focuses on those high-impact gaps, helping students stay enrolled, stable, and moving toward graduation.

Their Legacy
Honoring John and Judy Wright
John and Judy Wright opened their home to 55 foster children, creating a place where infants and toddlers felt seen, safe, and loved — often for the very first time. Their unwavering commitment left a lasting mark on every child they cared for and on the community around them.
Their service was widely recognized:
- Foster Parents of the Year — Michigan Foster Care Review Board (2012); Oakland County
- Honored by Oakland County Commissioners for "demonstrating the power of parental love, a love that can work miracles" (2013)
- The Judy Wright Volunteer of the Year Award — presented annually at Muskego High School in Wisconsin, honoring exceptional volunteer service in the community Andy and Kelly once called home
Your gift extends that love into the future, ensuring the spirit of John and Judy's work continues — transforming their legacy into meaningful opportunities for students who have walked a similar path.
Beyond Giving
Other Ways to Help
Not everyone can give financially at every moment. You can still play a vital role:
- Share the scholarship website with your network
- Invite your business, church, or community group to learn more
- Encourage students with foster care experience to apply
- Host a small fundraiser in honor of John and Judy Wright
If you know a student who has experienced foster care, please invite them to apply. This isn't an exclusive club — whenever possible, we do what we can to help every student in some way, shape, or form.
